“Drowned in an attempt to save his son, James Bryan Jasper who
fell from wharf at foot of Pollock St. ‘Legend has it that this child
named for his drowned brother, and his mother, wife of James
Jasper, both died during childbirth. The entire family is supposedly
buried in the grave.
