Transcribed by Sloan Mason To All to Whom this presents writing indented award shall come greeting- Thereas there are several disputes lately risen between Joseph MARTIN and Daniel MILLER both of Craven County and province of North Carolina of which disputes are cheafly touching and concerning a dividing line and cornertree between ye two parties the land where the -ye sd. Jas. MARTIN and sd. Dan'll MILLER now lives on & whereas for the putting an end to ye sd difference and dispute they the sd. Jas. MARTIN & Daniel MILLER by these several Bond or obligation baring date ye 22nd Day of November 1766 are become bound each to other in the penal sum of five hundred pounds proc. Money to stand to and abide the award and final determination --- Wm. HARRISON, Mathew STEVENSON, now know - that we the sd. Arbitrators whose names are thereunto subscribed and seals offered taking upon us the body of the sd award and having fully considered the matter and allegations of both ye sd. Parties do for the settling annuity and friendship between them make and publish this our award by and between the sd. Parties in maner following that is to say first we do award and order that all diference and disputes between ye sd parties on my manner of cause touching the division lines and corners to the day of the date hereof shall cease and be no further disputed and each of ye sd. Parties shall cease or have his one cast and charge or in any wise relating to or concerning the premises and we do also award and order to the Division line between the parties Joseph MARTIN, Daniel MILLER shall be as follows. Beginning at Philip MILLER'S deceast, upper corner tree a white oak on River and run south Due east to warter oake standing in a small branch below ye sd. Jas. MARTIN plantation and continue the course to the back line of the patent to be the dividing line between the sd. Jas. MARTIN and the sd. Daniel MILLER. Land and we also award and order that each be satisfied with the above mentioned divided line from the day of the date hereof and forever hereafter for witness hereof we have set our hands and seals in year of our Lord 1766, November 24th.
