September 10, 1909. Charlotte Observer. Spencer, Sept. 9 - Mrs. Ada Lane-House, of Bellair, Craven County, died at her home in that place last night following a desperate illness from typhoid fever. She had been at a Newbern hospital several weeks for an operation and the fatal disease set in soon after the operation. She was a sister of Mr. Guy S. Lane, Mr. Claud T. Lane and Mrs. H. W. Holt, all well known in Spencer, and a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Lane, of Bellair, the latter being now desperately ill at the home of Mrs. Holt in Spencer and is unable to attend the funeral. Mrs. House is well remembered in Spencer as Miss Ada Lane, having frequently visited her relatives and many friends here.
