December 09, 1922. Charlotte Observer. NEW BERN OSTEOPATH DIES OF ASPHYXIATION New Bern, Dec. 8 - Dr. Ernest DUNN, well know osteopath of this city was found dead in bed this morning, death being due to asphyxiation. Stretched out beside the bed a dog owned by Dr. DUNN also was found dead. Dr. DUNN apparently was reading after he retired last night and it is believed he fell alseep without putting out the gas light. It is thought the flame was extinguished in some manner during the night and the room filled with the fumes. The body was found by a brother after a policeman had detected gas issuing from Dr. DUNN's room, located in a Craven street building. The coroner did not hold an inquest. The funeral will take place tomorrow. Please do not contact me as I do not have any information on these individuals.
