Floyd Emanuel Morris, Sr. Floyd Emanuel Moris, Sr., 96, of 617 First Avenue died Sunday November 23, 2008 at Craven Regional Medical Center. He was born in the Adams Creek Community of Havelock, North Carolina and was a retiree of the Maintenance Dept. of The City of New Bern. He was an entreprenuer in the retail sales industry and was known as the neighborhood "candy man". Floyd served on the Usher Board of Mt. Calvary M. B. Church and sang with the New Bern Men's Fellowship Chorus and the Majestic Voices of Faith. The funeral will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, November 29th at Mt. Calvary M. B. Church with the Rev. Lawrence B. Kelsey, Officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. He is survived by his four sons Floyd E. Morris, Jr., San Diego, CA, Howard R. Gilliam of Virginia Beach, VA, William Henry of New York, NY and Johnnie Ray Sparrow of Kinston, NC; three daughters, Bernice Morris Reed of Virginia Beach, VA, Peggy Bolton, Texas and Beverly Smoot all of New Bern; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the residence of his daughter, Beverly Smoot of 617 First Avenue. Viewing will be at Oscar's Mortuary Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and at the church an hour prior to the service
