MISS MARY SMITH OF NEWBERN Newbern, July 9 - Miss Mary Smith, who resided at No. 71 Metcalf street, succumbed to an attack of peliagra at Stewart's sanatorium early this morning. Miss Smith was carried to the sanatorium Tuesday morning and at that time was suffering intensely. It was thought that there was some hope for her recovery, but despite the fact that everything possible was done for her, she succumbed to the dreaded disease. There were three other cases in the city. Please do not contact me as I do not have any information on these individuals.
