ILL HEALTH CAUSES YOUNG GIRL TO COMMIT SUICIDE Newbern, March 17 - Yesterday morning about 9:30 o'clock Miss Mattie Barrington, the 18 year old daughter of Jesse Barrington of Ernul, a small station on the Norfolk Southern Railroad, 7 miles from Newbern, committed suicide by blowing part of her head off with a double-barrel shotgun. She went into an unoccupied room, loaded the gun with number four shot, placed it on the floor and against her head and then touched the trigger. Ill health is suppose to have been the cause of the deed. Please do not contact me as I do not have any information on these individuals.
