March 20, 1916. Charlotte Observer. Newbern, March 10 - News has been received here of the sudden death at South Kent, Conn., Thursday afternoon of Mrs. R. E. HAMMOND, a former resident of Newbern and who for the past ten or twelve years has made her home at that place. The body will be brought to Newbern Monday and will be intered in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Mrs. HAMMOND has many friends here who will regret to learn of her demise. Please do not contact me as I do not have any information on these individuals.
