June 5, 1916. Charlotte Observer. RALPH E. DAVENPORT New Bern, June 4 - After an illness extending over a period of several months, Ralph E. DAVENPORT, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. B. DAVENPORT, died at the home of his parents Friday evening at 7 o'clock. Mr, DAVENPORT, who at the time of his death was 33 years of age, was stricken with a complication of ailments last fall. He made a brave fight against overwhelming odds but death finally triumped. Surviving the deceased are his parents and one brother, Roderick, of this city, and one sister, Mrs. A. G. LYNN of New York. Mr. DAVENPORT was a member of the New Bern Lodge of Elks and they attended the funeral in a body and conducted a part of the service.
