December 16, 1922. Charlotte Observer. FIGHTING OVER SHOTGUN, BOY KILLS HIS FRIEND New Bern, Dec. 15 - Waddell SANDERS eight year old son of Isham T. SANDERS, of Vanceboro, was shot and instantly killed today near Cove City north of here while in a scuffle with Fred McCOY, eight year old son of Bert McCOY for possession of a shotgun with which the boys had been hunting, according to reports reaching here. No arrest has been made pending the corner's investigation. Please do not contact me as I do not have any information on these individuals.
