Craven County, Loose Will of John West, April 22, 1760. John West (Craven County, April 22 1760) naming his wife Rachel, youngest son John West (not yet age 21), eldest son WILLIAM WEST (146 acres of Land lying in Craven County on the east side of [illeg] "near Bennony Loftins lying on the head [of] a branch called William's branch ..." Item: I give to my son John West the plantation where I nowe live to be surrendered to him at the time of his mother's marriage or at the age of 21 years. Item: I give the bead and furniture that was Daniel West's to my son William and the next best bead and furniture to my son John West and all such other ... goods ... to be equally divided among my three children William, John, and Drusilla West ... ["good friend" Jacob Griffith and wife Elizabeth West named executors; John West signed and sealed; Thomas Fooks (signed) and Thomas Hutson (mark) witnessed.]
