    Craven County NC Loose Wills, William West, March 12, 1779.
    

    In the Name of God, Amen, ... I, William West ... do make this my Last Will and Testament ... Imprimus--I bequeath to Elizabeth my dearly beloved wife the use of my plantation whereon I now live with all work creatures and plantation tools~~with all my cattle and Hogs not separately given to my children hereafter mentioned, during her widowhood or till her death, but in case she should intermarry after my decease I [hole in document] them as fol [hole in document]. Item: On my wife's marriage or her death as [hole] my said plantation above mentioned to my son Daniel West, with the uncleared land belonging to the same. Item: I give and bequeath unto my son David West, all the remaining part of my land from the dividing branch to the other side of the road and to the back line. Item: I give and bequeath unto my son Joseph West my land lying on [illeg. Sauer's? Lauer's?] branch

    Item: I give and bequeath unto Daniel my son my Still and Worm and it is my desire that he lets my son David have the use of the said Still when he shall have occasion. Item: I give and bequeath unto my daughters, Mary, Esther, Sarah, and Leoney [?] and to each of them seperately one young cow. Item: I give and bequeath to my grandson Joseph Fulsher one young cow. Item: I further desire that after my wife's intermarriage or death,that all my stock of what kind so ever be equally divided amongst all my children, and further it is my will that all my cooper's carpenter's shoemaker's, and plantation tools be equally divided amongst my five sons. Item: It is further my will and desire that my loving wife shall have the use of all my Household and Kitchen Furniture during her life or widowhood as above mentioned.
