I, FEILDAIR POWELL, of the County of Craven in the State of North Carolina, Widow, being of sound and perfect Mind and Memory, do make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say, after the payment of my just debts and funerall expence. 1St-- I Give and Bequeath to my Daughter ANN BANKS, Widow. The Plantation Tract of Land, Buildings and other improvements Thereon. Whereon I live also my Negroes PEGG, CAROLINA, PRIMMER, and CESAR, all my Stock of Cattle, Horses, and Hoggs, also all my Household Goods and Furniture of what kind nature or quality, so ever, for and during her Naturall Life and no longer. 2nd-- After the death of my said Daughter, I Give and Bequeath my said Plantation Tract of Land and the Improvements--thereon to my GRANDSON JOHN OZBURN POWELL together with my two Negroes CESAR & PRIMMER to hold the said Plantation and Negroes to him his Heirs and Assigns for ever. Provided never the less that in case my said GRANDSON should die under the age of twenty one years or without Issue Male, Lawfully Begotten, then and in such case I Give and Bequeath my said Plantation Tract of Land with the Improvements to my GRANDSON WILLIAM POWELL MOORE, to him, his Heirs and Assigns forever. And my Negro CESAR, I give in such case as before mentioned and expressed to my GRANDDAUGHTER MARGERY POWELL, to her Heirs and Assigns forever and my Negro PRIMMER, I give in such case as before expressed to my GRANDDAUGHTER SUSANNAH POWELL, to her, her Heirs and Assigns for ever. 3rd--I Give and Bequeath to my GRANDDAUGHTER SUSANNAH OLIVER my Negro Wench, NAM with her Increase for and during her Naturall Life and after her decease I Give the said Negro NAN with her Increase to my said GRANDDAUGHTER'S two Children JOHN and PATSEY OLIVER xx Share and share alike to them, their Heirs, and Assigns forever. 4th--After the death of my DAUGHTER ANN, I Give and Bequeath to my GRANDDAUGHTER ANN FEILDAIR MOORE, my Negro Wench, CAROLINA with her Increase, if any, to her, her Heirs and Assigns for ever. 5th--I Give and Bequeath after my said Daughters death, to each of my GRANDCHILDREN and to the Survivors of Them to wit: JOHN OZBURN POWELL, SUSANNAH POWELL, and MARGERY POWELL to each and every of them. One Feather Bed and Furniture to them, their Heirs and Assigns forever, and having provided Three Beds with Furniture for this express purpose I desire my Daughter will take care of the accordingly. 6th--I Give and Bequeath after the Death of my said Daughter, to my said GRANDSON JOHN OZBURN POWELL, One Large Oval Oake Dining Table, Six Flagg Bottomed Chairs and One Large Chest to him, his Heirs and Assigns forever. 7th--I Give and Bequeath after my said Daughters' Death, to each and every of my said GRANDCHILDREN JOHN OZBURN POWELL, SUSANNAH POWELL, MARGERY POWELL, Six Pewter Plates, One Pewter Dish and One Pewter Bason, a piece to be chosen out of the best of my Pewter that shall and remain after my said Daughters' Death, to them, their Heirs and Assigns forever. 8th--Respecting such push of my Personall Estate not herein before particularly disposed of. My Will and Pleasure is that after the death of my said Daughter that it shall be divided between the Children of my Son, OZBURN POWELL, Deceased, and the Children of my said Daughter, to each and every of them that shall be then living, share and share alike. 9th--Lastly my Will and Pleasure is that after the death of my said Daughter, that my Negro Wench PEGG, in consideration of her long and faithful Services, that she have her Freedom and upon no consideration whatever She be Sold, but that she be at Liberty to Live and Remain with such or any of my Grandchildren as She shall choose from Time to Time. Furthermore, I desire that in case my Daughter ANN should die during the Minority of my Grandson JOHN OZBURN POWELL, that then and in such case my Grandson WILLIAM POWELL MOOR, Have the care of my said Plantation during the Minority of the said JOHN OZBURN POWELL. And I hereby Constitute and Appoint my said Daughter ANN BANKS, Widow, my Sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament. Hereby revoking all former Wills by me made. In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my Hand and Seal this 20th November 1780.
