  (Undated) Will of Mary Oliver of the Town of Newbern In the Name of God Amen I Mary Oliver of the Town of Newbern in the County of Craven and State of North Carolina Being very sick in Body but of perfect mind and memory and calling to mind the Mortality of my Body do make & ordain this my last Will & Testament. Imprimus--I Give and Bequeath unto my dear beloved Daughter Elizabeth Bryan Negro man Latia to her and her heirs and afsigns (assigns) forever. Item--I Give and Bequeath unto my Son James Oliver all the rent that may be due me for my house. Item--I Give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Sarah Craddock Negro girl Fanny to her and her afsigns (assigns) for ever. It is my will that the Child that Fanny is now pregnant with be for my granddaughter Betsy Craddock. Item—I Give and Bequeath unto my Grand Daughter Mary Craddock Negro boy Jim and girl Hetty to her and her heirs and afsigns (assigns) for ever. It is my Will & Pleasure that all the residue of my property of whatever kindsoever be for my said Daughter Sarah Craddock to her and her heirs and afsigns forever. Lastly I nominate & appointy (sic) my Grandfon (Grandson) James Bryan to be Executor to this my last Will & Testament. /signed/ Mary Oliver Signed and acknowledged by the Testator to be her last Will & Testament in presence of James Bryan Solomon Halling Eunice Halling State of North Carolina Craven County Court December Term 1794 This was the (illegible word) Will & Testament of Mary Oliver Dec’d. produced in April Court and proved by the oath of James Bryan, one of the (illegible word) witnefs (witness) thereto and ordered to be Recorded, and at the same time the said James Bryan qualified as Executor to the said Will.
