Being sick and weak, but of perfect mind and memory and calling named the mortality of my body that is ordained for all men once to die do make this my last Will and Testament in Manner and form following: I give to God my Soul, who gave it me in Hopes of a Joyful Resurrection through Jesus Christ, my Savior, and my Body to the Earth to be decently buried in a Christian like manner at the Discretion of my Executrix hereafter named. Item: I give and bequeath to my well beloved Mother FEILDER POWELL Two Hundred Acres of Land, being the one half of the Tract whereon she now lives and all my hoggs thereon being. Item: I give and bequeath to my Brother GEORGE POWELL Two Hundred Acres of Land being the other half of the Tract which I gave to my Mother and were she now lives and one Cow and Calf and one 2 year old heifer. Item: I give and bequeath to my Loving Mother aforesaid all my Land lying in Prince Georges County in Maryland in any wise appertaining to me and to be at her Disposal. Item: I give to my Loving Sister ANN POWELL 2 Cows and Calves. Item: I give to my Brother OSBORN POWELL Two Hundred Acres of Land. It lying and being in JOHNSTON County, joining to MY Father's old Plantation at Sappony and my Riding Horse. Item: I give and bequeath to my Brother GEORGE POWELL my Riding Saddle and Bridle and all my Wearing Apparel to be Divided between my 2 Brothers OSBORN and GEORGE POWELL. Item: I give and bequeath to my Loving Mother all the Residue of my Cattle, Calves not before mentioned and my Negro Woman called PEGG. During her life and I leave, make, ordain, and constitute my Loving Mother FEILDER POWELL my whole and Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament, Disannulling all other Wills, Testaments heretofore made by me. WM. POWELL Signed, Sealed, Pronounced, and Delivered in presence of NICHOLAS ROUTLEDGE THOMAS ROUTLEDGE. At Court of Craven County, NC and held at New Bern December Anno Dom 1748. Then the within Last Will and Testament of WILLIAM POWELL, Deceased, Proved in Open Court by the Oath of NICHOLAS ROUTLEDGE. Witnesses: Evidence thereto, Ordered that the said Will and Testament be given notice thereof and Recorded. Test: PHIL SMITH, Clerk
