Jack is a Guinea Negro about 26, 5 ft. 4 in. and large whiskers. He pretends to
be a barber and has a wife at Mrs. SITGRAVES in Newbern; Charles about 16, 5
ft. 3 or 4 in., has brother and sister living in New Bern.

for the last 40 years a resident of this place.

Notice-At the August Term A.D. 1831, of Craven County Court, Letters of
Administration on the Estate of Col. Joseph NELSON, deceased, were granted to the
subscriber. Notice is hereby given to all persons indebted to the said Estate to
make immediate payment and those having claims against it are required to present
them duly authenticated within the time prescribed by law or this notice will

We are authorized to announce Edward STANLEY, Esq. A candidate to Represent the
Town of New Bern in the next General Assembly.
For Sale-Real estate for sale, valuable and well known plantation on Brice's
Creek about 800 acres now occupied by Col. Eli WARD, lately belonging to James G.
STANLEY, Esq.-possession will be delivered 1 January. Also residue of that well
known plantation and the adjacent lands in Jones County on Trent River and
Island Creek lately belonging to John STANLEY, Esq.; whereof a part has been
conveyed to Maj. Alfred STANLEY. The part to be sold contains the mill and mill seat
and is believed about 1700 acres of land.
September 14, 1831-Five cents reward-all persons forewarned from harbouring or
employing my indentured apprentice Bryan ELLICKSON and Benjamin ELLICKSON,

a few acres adjoining pocosin, 640 acres adjoining Bay River Bridge; 400 acres

Washington, N.C.; Indian Island 150 acres on Pamlico River; 400 acres of land of
